Artist and animator, Christopher Ahearn, has created a series of Animated Shorts exclusively for SPUD.TV. Using many original short story concepts, as well as some based on traditional fables and fairytales; these animated shorts cover the gamut from humorous and surprising – to – short stories created to provoke thought and discussion. The illustration and animation styles that Christopher Ahearn uses in CHRIS’S SHORTS are very basic and very simplistic; but it is how the stories are related and the bold contrasting artistic silhouetting approach that he takes, that makes CHRIS’S SHORTS both “simply powerful” and “simply entertaining” [No Nudity. SPUD.TV is definitely not your typically traditional video production studio network. We’re a passionate & animated team of accomplished award-winning video & TV broadcast professionals with one singular goal - bucking the status quo. SPUD.TV’s collaborative team is diverse with expertise in a variety of disciplines ranging from executive & line producers and directors–to–creative writers & video/cinematographers, who all offer imaginative ideas, similarly offbeat senses of humor with the self-serving urge to share our peculiar brand of creative juices with the rest of the entire world. And what better place to plunge than YouTube!
Our mission is not to make the usual videos that air on YouTube, but to create something to advance the content using a shoestring budget while relying on the synergy of talent (gray matter), sweat (ick!), and a whole lot of chutzpa (yes, we’re bilingual) to produce something worth viewing - if you read between-the-lines - we mean sometimes irreverent and often sophomoric. We feel that just about anybody (well maybe) can make something good with a lot of money behind it; and it’s too easy to create something pretty awful with a ton of financial backing (network TV). The intent is to not spend lots of money on production costs but more on talent and effort that creates great content. Our aim simply is to provide content that is enjoyable to watch…and if we’re lucky, a huge guffaw.
SPUD.TV just wants to put our spin on the silly and entertaining stuff everybody watches and loves on YouTube. We could tout our knowledge of and experience in producing more skillfully-mastered content...but then, we just did.
But, you’ll be the judge. Whether we’re successful (our mothers’ fantasy) or not (our reality), is all up to you...and millions just like you. So, all we can ask is...don’t be tentative like you’re going on a first date…watch SPUD.TV and get ready to be hooked.
